Countering terror: Imran renews demand for redeploying FC
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s ruling party on Tuesday renewed its demand for redeploying paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) troops in the province and reassigning to K-P soldiers serving in other parts of the country.
“The FC’s job is to guard the border between Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and K-P but this force is spread out across the country,” said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the PTI chairman, K-P has suffered the most at the hands of terrorists. “Therefore, the federal government should return the FC to the province that it belongs to,” the statement said.
Two months earlier, Imran had also appealed for the return of the paramilitary force in the wake of the December 16 attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar.
The PTI chief underscored the need for ‘concerted efforts’ both at the central and provincial levels to end the scourge of terrorism from the country.
Meanwhile, PTI leaders expressed solidarity with the families of the people killed in Lahore Police Lines and urged the Punjab government to provide every possible help to the families of the deceased??
